    Compost is now available to all residents at no charge at the Solid Waste and Recycling Facility while quantities last, weather permitting.

    Thunder Bay District COVID-19 Business Impact Survey

    Local COVID-19 business survey shows 91% experienced a decrease in sales; new and repeat business participation sought for second round

    The partnership launched in April to survey the effects of COVID-19 on businesses in the Thunder Bay district has released the results of its first round of the survey, collected at the end of April. The Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce, North Superior Workforce Planning Board, Thunder Bay CEDC and Northern Policy Institute agreed to collaborate on the six-month project.

    COVID-19 Forces Scaling Back of Summer Programs

    With the Province’s extension of Emergency Orders, the City is cancelling certain summer Recreation & Culture and Parks programs and services and reducing its summer student hiring program that supports those services. City Council approved the service level changes tonight.

  • Section of James Street to Close for Watermain Replacement

    James Street, at Riverview Drive, will be closed to through traffic, to allow for a watermain replacement. Work is starting on Tuesday, June 2, and is expected to be completed by the morning of Thursday, June 4.
